A Message From Dr. Sussman
It has been said that the two most critical things in life are your freedom and your health. Without them, no one can thrive. At Lehigh Valley Health Network, our charitable mission is to heal, comfort and care for the people of our community, and it is a mission we take very seriously.
We dedicate ourselves to quality care day in and day out. In 2008,
U.S. News & World Report ranked us as one of America’s Best Hospitals for the 13th consecutive year. We have earned a total of 28 specialty category listings in the past five years alone.
We also are very proud of our nurses, who go above and beyond to care for our patients every day, thus helping ensure safe, high-quality care. The American Nurses Credentialing Center recognizes our nurses’ excellence with Magnet designation. It is the gold standard for nursing care, earned by fewer than 5 percent of hospitals nationwide.
One of our hallmarks of quality is how we link patient care, education and research. We liken our model of care to a tricycle, with the smaller, rear wheels of education and research powering the larger, front wheel of patient care. Our education and research initiatives contribute to the quality of patient care by bringing to the Lehigh Valley the finest teaching physicians and nurses and the very latest medical knowledge.
Our unique model of care creates what we call an academic community hospital. It helps us best fulfill our mission and ensure that we’ll be here to care for the people of our community now and for generations to come.
