  • Born in Greensboro, North Carolina
  • Graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Arts degree
  • Medical Degree from East Carolina University School of Medicine
  • Three-year Emergency Medicine residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania
  • Certified and recertified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine
  • Joined the Medical Staff in November, 1997
  • Member of the Department of Emergency Medicine, Division of Emergency Medicine
  • Served as Interim Chair, Department of Emergency Medicine, for six months in 2003
  • Appointed Chair, Department of Emergency Medicine in July, 2007
